Cmadd is a versatile artist and producer who has a knack for bringing ideas to life. Caleb “Cmadd” Madden was Born on June 2nd, 1999 in Somers point New Jersey. He began his musical journey well before he wrote his first verse. Cmadd had the luxury of growing up with a mom who had toured with the Grateful Dead and was a very open minded consumer of music. His upbringing was fueled by good books, great music, animal planet and every sport or activity his mom could get him into to help drain some of his seemingly endless energy.
When he would get picked up from school, he remembered the other parents all listening to country and U2 while his mom would have a Wu Tang Clan CD bumping in the minivan when she would come to get him and his sister, Violet. In 2013 his mom and step dad decided to move him, his sister and their Miriad of pets out to Eugene, Oregon the summer before Cmadd started high school. When they arrived in Oregon and Cmadd had no friends and lots of time, the lyrics hit. Suddenly he had so much to talk about and needed an outlet for his thoughts. All throughout high school he practiced his craft, recording into his phone mic or freestyling in the hallways and drawing crowds. He also dabbled in production in high school, using a pirated music program to make very bad tracks which he now only plays when he needs a good laugh. Once he graduated he really began to take it seriously. He spent his time working in production at a local Brewery named Hop Valley and going to school to study music theory and business. In his classes Cmadd met another artist, RooX, who would end up bringing him into his music group, Dirtsquad.
Once Cmadd was a part of Dirtsquad everything changed. He started doing shows in Oregon and Arizona regularly and purchased a real set up to begin recording and making beats in his room. Fast forward to now and he is a well versed artist, producer and entertainer who has multiple projects and singles as well as countless producer credits. His accolades include having a song over 100k on Spotify and multiple songs over 20k, opening for artists like Krizz Kaliko, Sada Baby, Sir mix a lot, Dizzy wright and Talib kweli as well as having produced for artists such as Lil Vada, Teejay3k, Yung Simmie and Rich the Kid. At 25 years old Cmadd is at a high point in his career and it’s safe to say he is nowhere near done.
