Dejah Dej, also known as ‘Dejah’, is a creative hip-hop artist from Dallas, Texas. Dejah keeps her online presence known all around. Known as talented, fun, and cool in the efforts that have been led throughout her life, Dejah is just an overall talented artist that is constantly making movies. She has had numerous projects that have caught the eye of others. She remains consistent on her projects through her marketing, and is always having new ideas with her work. Dejah explains her current projects. “Right now I’ve really been working on creating new music. We’ve been in the lab creating songs and playing with different genres, so I’m really excited for people to see what we put out soon.”
Dejah is now putting in a lot of effort to display her skills, and is paving the way with her hard work. Dejah speaks on some of her motivations at the moment. “What inspires me to keep going is that I’ve worked too hard to just give up now. I have dreams of seeing the fruits of my labor and if I give up, I’ll never see that. My family and my support system also keep me going because I don’t do this just for me, I hope to give back to them and others, too.” Her goals and the reasons she pursues them set her up for success in all she undertakes and she does not stop. “I’ve overcome my struggles by prayer and understanding that not every ‘L’ I take is a true loss, but it’s only a lesson. Life was never meant to be perfect and we are always going to be hit with different obstacles, but as long as we keep working hard, keep pushing and putting our best foot forward, I truly believe that we will see rewards from that.”
As a business owner, what are some obstacles have you had to overcome to get where you are at?
Some obstacles I’ve had to overcome is the “No” and negativity. Not everyone is going to see your vision and most people are not going to really rock with you unless they see that everybody does, so pushing through that and understanding that the journey will be tough is an obstacle in itself. There will be many people who doubt you and don’t believe in you, but you have to keep believing in yourself, and keep striving for greatness because eventually the tables will turn.
What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?
I just dropped “Give It Up” and it’s streaming on all platforms right now and banging in the clubs. We are definitely working on some new content. I have did collaborations with Leela J (latin artist) and Double Park (country group) and ofcourse Ax2 (hip hop artist). It’s been a while since I’ve released an album and I’m working on building my music library for that. Be looking out for videos and performances, as well. I think I want to get ready to start off my personal YouTube channel too. I’m really ready to just get active again and put myself out there again cause it’s time. Be on the lookout for us!
Not only is Dejah an experienced artist, but she is also an artist who has a great deal of knowledge. She hopes that with the force of her work, she will be able to have a positive influence on the world and attain greater levels of success in her career. Dejah puts in hours of hard work and makes it a commitment to find inspiration in everything around her. She concludes the interview by giving a piece of advice that she wants others to take back from her overall work. “I think the biggest piece of advice I would want people to get from my work is that you should never give up and always try to keep improving yourself. I’ve been doing music for a while and I’m still always evolving and trying to get better, so I really hope people can see that in our new content coming soon.” As a necessary result of the effort she has put in, she will be in a position to strengthen the foundation that she has already established by building the additional elements on top of it and expanding the scope of those elements. Dejah will be successful in achieving her goal because she never gives up. She will only see success in the days to come.
“In the music industry, some of the most influential people for me was Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Ciara, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Dolph and Beyoncé. I really look up to their work ethic and what they’ve brought to the music industry. Every one of those artists are unique and powerful in their own way, I love their music and they’re just artists that I’ve always looked up to. Other than that it’s my parents, they have stuck with me through thick and thin and I thank them so much. Love you mom and dad.”
