Franck Olivier Lidji, also known as ‘Boyfranck’ is an artist originally from Côte d’Ivoire, born and raised in Abidjan now, and residing in Minnesota. The artist has set his eyes on the top, and is determined to reach there. From putting in work for years and building his credibility in the city and from back home, the artist is continuing to lead in the industry and his work catches the attention of his listeners fast. Authentic, hard working, and original, Boyfranck has a strong goal with his music: he wants to stay committed to his work while building a legacy. “Music is my life! I grew up in a musician family. I love working on my new singles, new sounds, kinda exploring different genres and finding what fits me. Ever since I found out about Afrobeats, I fell in love with it.” Boyfranck is destined for greatness.
Although failure is common while traveling far from home, Boyfranck, a successful artist who doesn’t give up easily, isn’t one to do that. He treats his working relationships seriously. His aspiration is to keep moving ahead and use his music to make a positive difference despite the difficulties. “What inspires me to write my music is truly my past traumas and hardships that I had as a kid growing up and having to flee from the war in my country but also my last relationship that I had and it’s been my way of healing from it putting different pieces into different songs. It’s been a long journey and it’s far from being over. Whatever it is that you are going through you’re going to heal from it eventually.”
Who are the most influential people in your life?
My mom because she is an artist as well from the Ivory Coast, very well known by the ex-president Gbagbo and I was always in awe seeing her perform and going on tours you know. Today I’m on the path and it feels like I’m rewriting the same story as I grow but the way God wants me to and I’m super excited for that. God bless her for paving the way and setting an example for me to follow and be better. I can’t wait to take her on tour with me!
Boyfranck has been up and coming in his city and in others for a long time. Honest, the artist and creative, never gives up and is quite clear about his aims and ambitions, even through times of hardship. “Some obstacles I have dealt with are financial problems, lack of motivation to keep going and making new songs. It’s a real thing and in order to have that breakthrough I had to persevere even if I didn’t feel like it. I acted upon it. Trust in Jesus is my way of living my life with no fear because if he is with me who can be against me! He is the one that has helped me overcome any obstacles in this life and get me where I’m at today so I can’t not give him credit for the man I am today. My peace in every moment of life is real and y’all should try with him!” His goal is to keep moving ahead and to create something meaningful with his music. Boyfranck makes a difference in the music industry by putting in the hours of effort, enthusiasm, and motivation.
Boyfranck continues by saying that his love of music would always be his motivation in life. Honest sees himself as an ambitious artist who, because of his perseverance and work ethic, has more recently inspired and motivated others. Others look up to him.
Boyfranck’s passion for creating his songs have pushed his drive and work ethic. He stays focused, honed, and disciplined in his work. Boyfranck makes an impact in the industry and leaves the interview with some advice for others. “I would say for all the upcoming artists out there, it’s either you want change or not. My songs it’s to uplift, bring joy, bring unity, make them feel and know that it’s possible to do the same for the kids back home where I come from. This is for my family and for those who feel like they aren’t moving forward with music. You can do it.”
The emphasis of Boyfranck’s concentration is now on continuing to pursue his musical profession in order to build his already strong foundation even further than it is already. Franck Olivier Lidji, also known as ‘Boyfranck’ has his sights set on the prize.
