Khami Young is a musical artist from Shreveport, Louisiana, now residing in Dallas, Texas. With influences from Las Vegas, Nevada, she remains diverse. As an artist, she has had the numerous projects that have caught the eye of others. From performing at the shows, to making visual projects. She remains consistent on her songs, and is constantly writing. Ambitious, funny, and optimistic, Khami tells what motivates her in her life.
“Right now I am working on some new music, I have recently done a show- which went very well. I have some collaborations with people dancing to my songs, I am working on placing my music on all platforms, and working on some behind the scene things for other artists. I have a lot on my plate but I strive to add more.”
Khami is now putting in a lot of effort to display her skills, with the expectation that she would one day achieve the highest level of success. She is on the right path to do so. Khami speaks of her inspiration and what helps her get through rough times. “I have new music that will be released on all platforms soon. I will be working on an album and getting my visuals out there.” Her goals and the reasons she pursues them set her up for success in all she undertakes.
What is inspiring you right now to constantly work on your endeavors?
My child inspires me the most of all because I know that I have to provide for her. No other option. So having her only motivated me to go even harder with my music. I also get into a mode where I’m only listening to my music in order to perfect my craft with no other obstacles, meaning not listening to other artists to jock their flow or style, etc.
How have you overcome struggles to be where you are now?
I try to remain optimistic at all times – good or bad – and just take it all with a grain of salt. You need the bad times and failures in your life just as much as the good times and praises you receive. It makes you the person that you are. Or the person that I am.
As a business owner, what are some obstacles have you had to overcome to get where you are at?
I’ve had to overcome all obstacles I feel at this point from losing people I thought would always be there to losing almost all of my money due to bad deals/contracts. I’m sort of glad , in a way, that it happened to me because it humbled me, and now I can educate others on the things I have come across in my lifetime.
Who were the most influential people in your life?
God, my mom/family, and myself made me the person I am today.
As a necessary result of the effort she has put in, she will be in a position to strengthen the foundation that she has already established by building additional elements on top of it and expanding the scope of those elements. “Always remain true to yourself. Speak the truth, rep the truth, and just stand on your word because that’s all you have at the end of the day. Trust God and you will be okay.”
Khami will be successful in achieving her goal because she never gives up, and in order to keep her position at the top, she can only see success in the years to come.
